She is a 20m Fishing Vessel (trawler) built in 1996 and operating in West Greece. During her standard pre-season maintenance, in autumn 2026, the foundations of an integrated fishery system were laid by integrating the vessel’s existing navigation, fish-finding and steering equipment with an advanced fishery track control system.
The refit project was planned with complementary, modular and scalable characteristics, allowing easy future improvements, upgrades and additions. So, the new system can easily be expanded to enhance vessel operations with selective fish-finding, improved net monitoring and even lower fuel consumption.
The basic subsystems are a fishery ECS offering effortless vector chart handling for navigation, dedicated fishery plotting capabilities and 2D/3D sea bottom mapping. Plus, a track/heading control system comprising of a commercial grade controller, with color display offering multiple steering modes, speed profiles and pre-set turn scenarios. Along with a processor, implementing proprietary software algorithms, multiple interfacing data I/O and output command capabilities.
Furthermore, provisions for live shore support by remote link to the equipment onboard the vessel has also been arranged. To expedite procedures the systems were delivered to the vessel with standard set-up already performed in our Service Department. So, attendance onboard for the final works was completed by our Team in minimum time with no disruption to the vessel’s schedule.
The integration of existing and new systems, allows for optimized and sustainable fishery operations. While the easy-to-use Greek menu allows intuitive access and use of the multiple new features and state-of-the-art performance. As a result, the vessel’s productive lifetime will be extended with lower operating costs and improved fuel efficiency.
