SEA.AI (formerly known as OSCAR) just announced that SENTRY Software Release 4.0 is now available, bringing faster imaging, smarter streaming, improved MFD integration, and a cleaner, easier‑to‑read interface to your SEA.AI SENTRY. This latest software release is all about making the users’ time on the water safer, clearer and easier. This is achieved by focusing on connected MFD information clarity, network reliability, video optimization and quick set-up. Some more details on these are listed below:
SENTRY now integrates more smoothly with major multifunction displays from Navico Group (SIMRAD, B&G…) etc. This means cleaner helm layouts, fewer screens, and faster reactions with key data shown directly on your main displays.
RTSP streams now include optional detection bounding boxes for instant object visibility, even on remote screens. Prefer a clean feed? You can turn overlays off anytime.
Users gain finer control over video parameters: resolution, encoder, frame rate, I-frame interval and bitrate. This allows optimization of bandwidth or quality without affecting detection performance.
Light, Dark and Night themes have been redesigned for better readability, reduced glare and quicker information scanning in all conditions.
This update strengthens overall reliability with better NMEA2000 connections, more stable boat bus and joystick communication, plus cleaner logs and updated libraries for smoother operation.
Panorama creation now takes just 5 minutes instead of 20, with sharper images and full RGB camera support for more accurate obstruction masks. If your SENTRY installation depends on masking, we recommend generating a new panorama. Your Installer or our Service Department can help create and upload the correct mask.

To get the most out of software release 4.0 for Sentry, it is recommended to:
SEA.AI is a pioneer in the field of machine vision for marine applications. The Watchkeeper, Competition & Sentry systems combine optical and thermal sensors with artificial intelligence for enhanced comfort and safety at sea. While the Brain add-on system pursues the promise of vaster surface vision capabilities for third-party thermal cameras. SEA.AI systems detect floating objects early, using thermal and optical cameras to catch even objects that escape conventional systems such as Radar or AIS: unsignalled craft, floating obstacles, containers, buoys, inflatables, kayaks and persons over board.
This latest software update for SEA.AI SENTRY, not only enhances the systems’ detection capabilities, but also offers a more user-friendly experience. As maritime security remains a persistent concern in today’s world, SEA.AI continues to lead the way with innovative solutions that supports crew members and maritime professionals to safeguard their vessels effectively. So, our users may stay safe, stay aware, and navigate with confidence—powered by SEA.AI.
