The new Simrad SY50 advanced 8” omni-sonar is available

The new Simrad SY50 is a compact omnidirectional medium-frequency fish-finding sonar. It is using an 8-inch composite element transducer with an integrated transceiver in wet-end plus an improved motion-sensor for higher g tolerances. This makes it possible to optimize both transmission and reception performance using full dynamic range DSP beamforming. Users can also adjust the operating frequency between 54kHz to 60kHz for improved detection, or to avoid a noise source such as another echo sounder or sonar in the same fishing area. This makes it possible to achieve higher resolution, longer ranges, and clear echograms in all conditions.

 

 

The SY50 is using the WINSON software, the latest operating software in Simrad products. The WINSON software has been a tremendous success with its intuitive and easy-to-use interface already operational in all Simrad omni-sonars, echo sounders, catch monitoring systems, and SN90 sonar. Moreover, it is optimized for the new joystick operating panel making the SY50 very efficient during purse-seine operations when a lot of equipment must be operated at the same time. This completes our mission of providing the local fishermen with one unified Greek interface between the user and the product regardless of which product is operated.
