Anschütz eLog integrates Hoppe Marine systems’ data

With connectivity and digital solutions on the rise, Anschütz and Hoppe Marine are taking the next step by integrating the eLog electronic logbook from Anschütz and Hoppe Marine’s system portfolio, providing time series data.

Both companies have now agreed on a partnership in which Hoppe’s sensor data validation capabilities are combined with eLog’s intelligent workflow and plausibility checks to provide the customer with significant advantages in data quality and efficiency.

To meet today’s reporting requirements, data from the various onboard systems is typically entered manually. This often results in multiple data entries and additional effort, which is not only inefficient and distracting, but also increases the risk of inconsistent and incorrect data.

The integration of high frequency system data (e.g. relevant operational data) using Hoppe Marine’s onboard application programming interface and the eLog results in significant advantages: the autofill function of the Anschütz eLog enables the automatic transfer of data from Hoppe Marine’s systems without the risk of transmission errors. The combination of two validation levels in the Hoppe Marine and Anschütz systems simultaneously ensures the best possible data quality.

For example, the fill levels of ship’s tanks can be prefilled entries in the tank logbook, oil record book and ballast water record book. The flow meter feeds consumption data into the engine logbook and oil record book. Complete diesel engine data is added to the relevant entry field in the engine logbook. Last but not least, various data from different sensors can also help the bridge crew manage the deck logbook.

While this reduces crew stress and distraction, better data quality also reduces the risk of inconsistent or incorrect data causing problems with port state control or disagreements among stakeholders. The integration therefore underlines the positioning of the eLog as the central data source on board for reports, processes and decision-making.

In addition to its primary role as a comprehensive, easy-to-use digital logbook to meet various reporting requirements, eLog also provides verified and consistent data across various interfaces. The data remains under full control of the shipowner, but it makes collaboration with stakeholders at shore and on board much easier and efficient.

Anschütz and Hoppe Marine have successfully tested the integration of their systems in recent months and plan to implement the solution in the first customer projects soon.
