With the Solid-State Transceiver (SST), Anschütz introduces a new, advanced sensor for the SYNAPSIS radar system. The Anschütz SST promises high reliability and, in conjunction with the enhanced SYNAPSIS Radar NX software, superior target detection under all environmental conditions. As there is no magnetron, maintenance requirements and costs are significantly reduced.
The Anschütz SST is an IMO-approved, reliable radar sensor and is available in X- and S-band with 5ft, 8ft and 14ft antennas. The new sensor represents a radical departure from technical convention, using solid-state transmitters with a low-power RF architecture.
“With the Anschütz SST, we are pleased to introduce a new era of advanced and reliable radar sensors”, said Philip Kankelfitz, Head of business unit Integrated Bridge Systems at Anschütz. “In combination with our Radar NX software, the radar system sets new standards in safe navigation and collision avoidance, offering excellent target tracking, target management and a precise and clear visualization of the maritime situation.”
The Anschütz SST features digital signal generation and processing, enabling the distribution of high-fidelity raw radar video to bridge workstations via Ethernet. On the bridge, the availability of raw video provides maximum flexibility for various end-user applications, including Anschütz’s Radar NX navigational radar software. Radar NX offers exceptionally high detection and tracking performance, as well as unique and patented anti-clutter and filtering technologies.
Integrating the radar sensors via LAN not only enhances performance and flexibility but also eliminates the need for special coaxial cables and inter-switches, simplifying installation and reducing cabling effort and costs. Integration into existing SYNAPSIS systems is possible using the same type of cable.
The fully coherent, compact design of the transceiver, gearbox and antenna ensures smooth, reliable operation and durability. With no magnetron, the Anschütz SST is easy to maintain and has a long lifespan. Overall, this significantly improves the price/performance ratio over the life of the entire radar system.
