Background: What does the new Regulations require?
Adopted in Circular BWM.2/Circ.80, new guidance is provided on ballast water record-keeping and reporting process under the Ballast Water Management Convention. This includes an updated ballast water reporting form and a voluntary tank-by-tank logging of ballast water operations. Resolution MEPC.369(80) then amended the Ballast Water Management Convention Appendix II with an updated form of the BWRB.
