The Anschütz eLog is an electronic logbook that automates onboard documentation and paves the way to paperless ship operation. Anschütz has now released a major upgrade for the eLog which significantly expands the range of functions and books included.
With the upgrade, Anschütz can offer the eLog in several licence levels for different use cases. A basic licence includes, among others, the deck logbook, the bell book and the engine logbook and is perfect for small vessels such as tugboats, workboats or coast guard ships. Licences are also available for cargo ships, container ships and tankers, and an all-encompassing selection of books and reports is available for ships operating paperless.
“With the upgrade of the eLog, we can now offer our customers what is probably the most comprehensive electronic logbook on the market with full class approval”, said Volker Wenzel, responsible for the technical marketing of the eLog.

Anschütz has launched the eLog to replace the error-prone manual data collection with an automated and secure digital process chain. It is designed in accordance with ISO standard 21745:2019 and MEPC 312 (74). Furthermore, it’s class-approved by DNV and accepted by major flags to be used instead of paper logbooks.
With eLog, all ship navigation, operation, environmental, security and command evidence is provided in a digital and secure format. Automatic and manual data entries ensure consistency, transparency and efficiency for the maritime documentation. Secure and tamper-proof blockchain technology is used to store the data, and owners have full data control and access at any time.
