ShipModul B.V., a Dutch marine electronics manufacturer, announced that a new firmware, V3.34.1 was released for the MiniPlex-3 Series fixing a bug in the AIS MOB function. The Switch contact could open or close randomly, caused by the implementation of the Auto-Reverse Heading function in V3.33.0. This also controlled the Switch contact for automatic switching of navigation lights.
Configuration Tool
The latest MPXConfig3 V3.18.0 which is available from 18-06-2025 can be used with this latest MiniPlex-3 firmware, providing an NMEA 2000 Tab with the following three sentence options for $MXPGN:
Furthermore, it should be noted that this latest MPXConfig3 version is only available for Windows and not yet for macOS. To use a MiniPlex-3 on a Mac, firmware V2.3.18 must be loaded using MPXConfig3 V2.4.1 for MacOS. The V2.3.18 firmware, however, can only be loaded in multiplexers with serial number ranges 3x00xxxx and 3x02xxxx. This firmware is not compatible with serial number range 3x01xxxx! For these multiplexers, you must use MPXConfig3 for Windows, which can be run in a virtual machine on your Mac.
