A new software (v.23.1) for the latest Processor Units of Simrad CP60, ES80, and EQ50 has been released. The updated Processor Unit software is a 64-bit installation, optimized for Win10Pro, controlling all functionality, Tx/Rx, interfacing with external peripherals and sensors, plus the user interface. Furthermore, this software update solves a few software bugs that have been reported by our users or detected during our own product testing. New functionality is also introduced. The following specific changes have been made:
Multiple products supported
The new software version is valid for the following products:
The software license controls which product you have. The product name on the top bar changes accordingly.
Trawl opening
You can now define the size of the trawl opening with a negative value. A negative value is necessary if you place the height sensor on the footrope.
Temperature measurements from the transducer can be exported
Any temperature reading from the transducer can now be exported to peripheral systems using the functionality on the Relay Output page in the Output dialog box.
Added support for Furuno GPatt datagram
Furuno GPatt is a proprietary datagram format created by Furuno to contain pitch, roll, and yaw information.
ADCP information pane can be established as a separate view
Use the Docking Views function to establish the ADCP information pane as a separate view. Under Docking Views, select Add Window. In the list that opens, select the ADCP information pane.
Alternating echo sounder and current velocity measurements
In the Normal Operation dialog box, select ACDP in separate ping to alternate between ADCP and regular echo sounder transmissions. This functionality is only available for ADCP operation. It is important. Use this function to avoid interference between the ADCP and the echo sounder operation of the transducer.
Vessel direction in the ADCP information pane
The ADCP information pane now displays the vessel’s current direction with a numerical value.
In “Bow up”, the relative direction is shown.
In “North up”, the geographical direction is shown.
Automatic range in ADCP information pane
We have improved the automatic range setting in the ADCP information pane.
Current velocity calibration
The previous version of the software calibrated the current velocity system with a scaling factor and a yaw angle. The latest version uses a new model for velocity scaling. This new model improves the pre-calibrated performance. When installing SW 23.1, the old calibrated scaling will no longer be valid. A new calibration is required.
This new software release (v.23.1) is an important update. The introduction of new functionality and improvement in the existing functionality will add value to your installation. Major new functionality has been added in this version. So, we recommend that all users update their software. An update is essential if you have a system with the CP200 transducer and ADCP functionality.
Developed over many product generations for the worldwide fishing community these sophisticated, but also intuitive, systems are:
The Simrad CP60, ES80, and EQ50 need one or more software licenses to operate. Each software license code “unlocks” one Wideband Transceiver (WBT) or General Purpose Transceiver (GPT) for operational use with a set of predefined properties. Users do not need to obtain any new license string(s) when they update from a previous version of a licensed system. In order to obtain a software license users must contact a Simrad dealer or distributor.
