Anschütz receives UR E27 cybersecurity approval

Navigation system company Anschütz has received DNV cybersecurity type approvals for a range of our navigation and steering control systems. The DNV certification according to Unified Requirement (UR) E27, Cyber Resilience of Onboard Systems and Equipment, and DNV Notation Cyber Secure (Essential highlights the high level of security and integrity that Anschütz customers can rely on at sea. The systems now certified include the:

  • NautoSteer AS, advanced steering gear control system with customizable modular architecture.
  • NautoPilot 5000 NX, high precision heading control / track control system with fuel saving features.
  • PilotStar NX, heading control system for smaller standard and high-speed craft.
  • Standard 22 NX, digital gyrocompass with extensive interfacing options.
  • Standard 30 MF, maintenance free gyrocompass based on HRG technology.

Note: For SYNAPSIS products in the areas of Radar, ECDIS and Integrated Bridge Systems, Anschütz has already implemented key elements of UR E27 and will inform accordingly once format approval is available.

UR E27 specifically defines requirements for onboard systems and devices, including the generation of audit logs for certain events, communication integrity and protection against malware installation. UR E27 was issued by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). IACS interprets regulations (e.g. from SOLAS) and develops corresponding requirements, which are then adopted by classification societies.

Anschütz stands for precise and reliable navigation systems. By certifying our products according to the cybersecurity requirements of UR E27, we are making shipping even safer and helping to ensure that ships and crews always reach their destinations securely. We are continuing along this path with other classification societies.
